The
route will lead
you to access magical places. Here, every step takes
you to a visible trace of human history like the countless
centuries old stone-built houses, the lovely villages
built during Middle Ages, the awesome monuments and paintings from
prehistoric times.
The main
part of the region is built upon a limestone plateau
cut by deep valleys and covered with orchids and with
small white oaks.

Day 1:
Pick
up in the afternoon in Figeac (we can also arrange transportation
from Toulouse airport), a lovely little town with pedestrians
old
streets and buildings as old as half a thousand years.
Possibility of a lovely walk by the ancient
city pedestrian streets. Too possibility of a guided
visit of the ancient city (on reservation, guide fee
not included )
Night in Figeac
Day
2 : Short van transfer to Beduer nice village
and its castle. En route to the lovely Cele valley
by the Grealou limestone plateau. Terrain is gently
undulating. Very nice footpaths. On the way :stone-made
shepherds huts, dolmen (prehistoric monument), lovely
old houses, old stone made fountain...Walk is 15 km,
difference in heights is 300m.
Day
3 &
4, :
The gorgeous Célé Valley, surrounded
of limestone cliffs. You are following the valley, sometimes
down in the valley, sometimes on top of it along the
edge line, some times along footpath hanged onto the
cliff. But you are also crossing a limestone plateau
and its small trails surrounded by small stone fences,
very typical from the area. The plateau is an arid region
with specific flora, land of orchids and of numerous
other flowers.
Saint Sulpice village and its trogloditic houses
(built into the cliff), Marcilhac Abbey, Sauliac castle
... Day 3 is 15 km (diff. in height is 600 m) , day
4 is 18 km (diff. in height is 550 m)

Day 5 :
"En
route" to the Lot valley, you may decide to visit
the prehistoric cave decorated with incredible 18,000years
old prehistoric paintings...A surprising path cut into
the cliff will offer you a very nice view to the valley.
St Cirq Lapopie incredible village: overlooking
a bend in the Lot, the village is perched on the
edge of the cliff; the ancient houses rise up over the
rocky slope protected by the 500 years old church.
Night next Saint Cirq Lapopie. Walk is 16 km
(diff. in height is 350 m)
Day 6 :
A loop above the Lot valley by a very nice
and peaceful scenery; unforgettable lookout views. Walk
is 19 km (diff. in height is 400 m)
Day 7 :
Breakfast
and drive back to Figeac.
