you to a visible trace of human history like the countless
centuries old stone-built houses, or the castles from
the Middle Ages,or the awesome monuments and paintings from
prehistoric times.
The main
part of the region is built upon a limestone plateau
cut by deep valleys and covered with orchids and with
small white oaks.
On

Day 1:
Welcome in Figeac in the afternoon.
Depending on your arrival time, you may decide to ride
around or just to rest...
Day 2, 3 & 4 :
Many single tracks
within the gorgeous parts of the Célé Valley, surrounded of limestone cliffs. You
are following the valley, sometimes down in the valley,
sometimes on top of it along the edge line, some times
along footpath hanged onto the cliff. But you are also crossing
a limestone plateau and its small trails surrounded by small stone fences,
very typical from the area.
The plateau
is an arid region with specific
flora, land of orchids and of numerous other flowers.
Time seems to have no effect on this so well preserved area ...
Many
lovely villages,a cave with prehistoric paintings, ancient
houses built into the cliff....
Day
5 & 6 &7:
The
lovely Lot valley area : a medieval castle
on its rocky promontory, St Cirq lapopie famous
village: overlooking a bend in the Lot, the village
is perched on the edge of the cliff; the ancient houses rise up over the rocky slope
protected by the 500 years old church.
A very high but narrow castle
but also a circular medieval village and its cirque
will charm you, as well as among others, a
castle on its rocky promontory.
Shepherds' stone huts, that locals call
"Cazelles" are usually circular
in shape with a conical roof of flat stones. They have
been built from ancient times, more then 3000 years
ago!
Day 8:
End
of the trip after the breakfast and drive back to Figeac
(It is possible to ride again also)
