A beautiful region of France with
its 200 volcanoes. Among others, a beautiful range of
numerous young volcanoes stretching in line. Another
one is the biggest of Europe. Numerous lakes, green
landscapes and very good cheeses are the trademark of
this pastoral region. Lots of trails on volcanic ground
and also single tracks.
Day 1:
Welcome in Clermont-Ferrand in the afternoon.
Day 2 & 3 :
Crossing of a beautiful and unique range of numerous young volcanoes stretching
in line. It is a country of pastoral activity, superb green
landscape, beautiful lakes and pure water, like Volvic
spring water. The Puy de Dome volcano is one of the
greatest climb of the "Tour de France" race,
rich of champions numerous epic fights for victory Day 4 & 5 :
We will ride on a very big and ancient volcano called
Sancy.. It is a pastoral area, where one can find
very good local cheese like the Saint Nectaire. In winter it is also a very popular area for cross country
skiing.
Crossing of a wide plateau of volcanic ground. it
is a very remote area where grass is ideal to produce
very good and full of vitamins cheeses.. Some of
these cheese are still produced in very ancient mountain
huts called "buron".
Day 6 & 7:
We will cross a popular ski resort and
ride the Cantal volcano. Measuring 70 km in diameter,it
is the biggest of Europe the biggest volcano of Europe.
It has given its name to the very
good local cheese called Cantal. . We will climb onto the volcano and do
the descent. Numerous European mountain animals in this
wide space of alpages and forests (Chamois, Marmottes,
Dears, Stags, Mouflons,...)
Day 8: The"Au revoir" in the morning.
